The Skoooch is the hottest new way to scoot for 3-6 year olds

San Diego, February 11, 2001 – Fast on the heels of the sought-after California Chariot, the Skoooch is gearing up to take the country by storm. Brainchild of well-known toy inventor Mark Rappaport, the Skoooch is a tike-sized version of the California Chariot, a cross between a BMX bike, two skateboards and a shopping cart. It is targeted to children ages three to six and is destined to create great fanfare at the American International Toy Fair In New York this February 11-15

The Skoooch’s three wheels and dual footboards are responsible for its unusually stable and smooth ride. "It’s ideal for this particular age group because there is no learning curve," says Rappaport. "It’s as easy as riding a shopping cart- you just step on it and go. Kids just love it." He says.

"We can’t keep the California Chariot on the shelves," says John Naisbitt of Thinker Things Toy Store in Del Mar, California, who has been retailing the California Chariot for the past two years. "The Skoooch has been doing very well – the orders keep pouring in."
Rappaport has been inventing toys for the past 17 years, but the California Chariot marks his first time marketing his own product. It is distributed through specialty stores in 46 states across the United States. Upcoming plans include expansion into Japan, Europe and Canada.
