How to Animail™ |
Will the post office really mail these?Yes! |
![]() |
Do I need to put tape over the stamps to hold them on?No. The stamps or postal meter strips you get at the post office stick just fine if you do not handle them too much. Try to not touch the sticky side and put them on the flattest part of your Animail™. See the pics on the special instructions page. If you do put tape on them, the adhesive part of the tape reacts chemically to the Animail™ skin and gets gooey. Not good! The stamps will stay on if you smooth them down a few times and not mess with the sticky parts of them or try to reposition them once they are down. |
How do I address an Animail™You address an Animail™ the same way you would address an envelope. The most important thing is that it is easy to read. It must be completely legible. Somebody needs to find it and read it to get your guy where he needs to go. Use common sense. Make it large enough to be recognized as the address. Maybe you could draw a line around it or some stars or dots to make it distinctive. |
What should I write? What you write is entirely up to you. We have some fun suggestive sayings relating to the character but they are just suggestions. Your sentiments will be on the Animail™ forever. Take your time and express yourself thoughtfully or just write a quick note. It's up to you. |
What kind of pen or marker should I use?We suggest using a Sharpie® or other permanent marker. The super fine points give lots of control but the broader tips are darker and show up more boldly. Colors are fine to use but be careful to use contrasting ones on areas that need to be read clearly. If you use a red marker on a pink pig it might not show up well. |
My Animail™ is deflated... What should I do?Animails™ are filled with air. Occasionally, like all living things, they can let their air out. If this happens to your Animail™ and you would like us to replace it, just call (800)781-8110 or email us and we will be happy to send a replacement. |
Do you have examples of what other customers have done?We are waiting for people to send us examples of their Animails™. We would love to post your pic here. Click this link to send us your pic. |
Autographs? How does that work?To get an autograph from a famous person we suggest a direct approach. Something like... "Ms. Aniston, uh, would you please sign my frog?" or how about... "Mr. Bieber, can you autograph my pig?" or my favorite... "Ms. Kardashian, uh, mmm, er, could you please sign my Mini Wahoo™?" If you are using it for your friends you can just hand it to them to sign. If you are signing it for a coach or teacher then sneak it around to all the kids so the person whom it is intended for doesn't see it. It is harder than the gift card you are use to signing to hide! Note: one of the popular areas to sign are in the more risque areas. If this is an issue then warn whoever is drawing to behave. |
How much is the postage?Postage is between $2.24 and $3.00. Most Animails™ can get by with two $1 stamps and one .44¢ stamp. The exceptions would be an Animail™ that was left alone at the factory and got into the cookies and put on a few lbs. It is best to take it to the post office to be sure. |
Does it really mail?Yes! Yes! |
What do postal workers think? The workers at our post office think they are great. That could be 'cause I gave them some but I tend to think it 'cause their fun to send. The ordinary post office employee is just like you and I. What better way could there be to get a smile from one than sending a rubber blue dog through the mail? |
Will the pen or marker rub off?If you use one that is not permanent then yes! Wait about 5 min. before you test rub your pen. They need just a little time to set or dry. I have actually used certain ball point pens and they work great but you need to test it on a small area for smearing. |
Can I use this as a teething toy for my baby?NO! The Animail™ itself is Phthalate and lead free but it does have a small air fill valve that has not been infant tested. Also, a bigger issue is the kind of ink that is being used by you. We have no idea what is in those inks. Do not give an Animail™ to anybody who will teeth on it or put it in their mouth. |
What if it doesn't fit in my mailbox?Either get a bigger mailbox or the postman will leave it at your door or they will leave you a little sticky note asking you to come to the post office to pick it up. It all depends on where you live and your relationship to your friendly neighborhood mail carrier. |
Will you have other characters?Yes, of course. Any suggestions? |
Do I have to mail it?Nope, you do not have to mail your Animail™. Sometimes they are quite content to just hang around and watch TV. Make sure to not leave them near the kitchen as they love to snack! |
Where can I get an Animail™?Use our convienient Animail™ DEALER Locator, of course... |
