Special Instructions:
This is the area where I explain some of the things that make your Animail™ work a little better. It is the spot where most of the people who need directions come. I will try to help you with some simple "do's and don't's" but in the end your Animail™ is just a soft, pliable rubber guy that you can write on with a permanent marker. Your creativity and spontaneity is what will bring it to life. So, here are some things to think about and help you along the Animail™ trail.
-
You really should give your Animail™ a bath before you write on him. I use plain'ol dish soap. Don't scrub too hard. Just get off any residual road dirt. Make sure to dry him or her completely. You may take a bubble bath with your Animail™ if you want.
-
Use any permanent marker. We use Sharpies® but any will do. I am partial to the ultra fine tips. They give more control. Colored permanent markers work ok but sometimes don't show up well.
-
DO NOT USE PAINT PENS! The paint interacts with the Animail™ skin and will not dry. DO NOT USE PAINT PENS

-
The last line was not a typo. I repeated the sentence twice.
-
When you address your Animail™ remember that someone else has to read it (a postal worker). It will make their job easier if it is legible. The zip code should be extremely easy to read. A return address is not required but can be added if you want. Again, 2 things are all that is required to insure a safer trip for your Animail™. An address that is readable and the correct amount of postage.
-
Don't forget to leave yourself space for postage... (it happens more often than you think)
-
Keep stuff "G" rated. It is going to be traveling in public for a couple of days.
-
Animails™ make very bad baby toys. They are for kids and adults ages 3 and up. Once you write on them with a pen and put stamps on them we have no control over toxicity. They are lead and Phthalate free when they come to you. We do not know the exact pen you are using to write with. Do not give to a kid under 3. Thanks for your understanding.
-
Do not leave your Animail™ in a hot car or in a really cold place. Extreme temperatures are not good for their complexions. Direct sunlight tends to fade their color as well.
-
Do not add air to try to inflate them more.
-
All Animails™ weigh slightly different amounts. To insure accurate postage, take it to a post office. It will be under $3 no matter what.
-
NO LICKING STAMPS. Only use peel and stick stamps or postage strips off a postage meter.
-
Do not try to clean your Animail™ with anything other than dish soap. Solvents will adversely affect the surface.
-
The postage will be one of five possible amounts as of 7/11/11. They are: 2.24 or 2.41 or 2.58 or 2.75 or 2.92. The most likely will be 2.41 or 2.58. They almost never are 2.92 but we have seen a rogue heavy one once in a while. To be sure, do it at the post office or a place with a mailing scale. The other option is just put 2.92 on it and overpay.
